    • GST exemption codes

    • Vaping products liable to excise duties and taxes

  • Origin verifications for imports under:

    • Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA)

    • Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement (CUKTCA)

  • Duties Relief Program (DRP)

    • Checks on licensees importing supply-managed goods

The CBSA notes that these priorities may change as the risk #environment shifts throughout the year.

Maintaining Trade Compliance

To remain compliant, #importers must:

Accurately classify goods under the correct tariff codes.

Correctly declare the origin and value of goods.

Pay all required duties and taxes.

Failure to comply may lead to penalties, delays, or other issues with customs authorities.

Reducing Compliance Risks

Proper classification of your goods is vital. Mistakes in classification can result in #penalties and threaten compliance. Performing internal audits to verify tariff classifications at release and final accounting stages is strongly advised.
