The 1UP Cargo Australia Export Team recently managed the successful shipment of a 5T overhead Portal Crane, moved as Out-of-Gauge (OOG) Breakbulk cargo. Complex in both scale and requirements, this project showcased the planning, coordination, and hands-on expertise that go into moving heavy industrial equipment safely and on schedule.

The Challenge
Transporting a crane of this size is no small feat. From specialized transporters to Marine Surveyors, every step required detailed coordination. Timing was critical, with vessel cut-off deadlines looming and the need for secure handling at every stage. To meet the requirements, a Boilermaker was even called in for last-minute adjustments on the cargo footing to ensure everything was secured properly for the voyage.
