Moving Critical Cargo: Airbus A320 Engine from Johannesburg to Xingang, China


The Challenge

Transporting aviation equipment is a highly sensitive operation that demands precision, planning, and strict handling standards. When 1UP Cargo South Africa was tasked with exporting an Airbus A320 aircraft engine, the project required careful coordination across multiple stages, from inland transport to international shipping.

With oversized dimensions and specialized handling requirements, the cargo needed to be securely loaded onto a flat rack container and transported via abnormal road freight from Johannesburg to Durban port, ensuring full compliance at every step.

 

The 1UP Solution

From the outset, our South Africa team took control of the operation, coordinating closely with our trusted partners to ensure a seamless execution.

The engine was loaded onto a 40FT flat rack container using specialized handling equipment, followed by transport via abnormal truck from Johannesburg to Durban. Every stage of the process was carefully planned and monitored to ensure the cargo remained secure and compliant with export standards.

Working alongside Logistical Solutions Africa and our WCA partner, Air & Ocean Expressed Logistics (Beijing), our team ensured smooth coordination between origin handling, port operations, and international shipping.

With the container successfully delivered and stacked at Durban port, the cargo is now prepared for its ocean journey to China on an OOCL service.
