The Challenge
Transporting a high-value vehicle by air requires precise planning, specialist handling, and strict compliance with airline and customs requirements. When 1UP Cargo Canada was tasked with coordinating the export of a 2025 Zenvo Aurora Agil, the vehicle had already been temporarily imported into Canada for an auto show under an ATA Carnet. Following the event, it needed to be collected and exported from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Frankfurt Airport (FRA), with onward movement to Denmark.
The non-functional, battery-powered vehicle was non-stackable and measured 484 × 202 × 110 cm. Although its gross weight was 1,100 kg, its dimensions resulted in an airfreight chargeable weight of 5,720 kg. The vehicle also contained UN2800 wet, non-spillable sealed VRLA/AGM batteries installed within the machinery, requiring careful documentation and airline-compliant handling.
The 1UP Solution
From collection through to airport departure, the 1UP Cargo Canada Airfreight team coordinated the complete ATA Carnet movement. The vehicle was collected from Policaro Performance by TFX International and transported directly to the Lufthansa cargo facility at Toronto Pearson International Airport. During the airline acceptance process, additional flight strapping was required before the vehicle could be approved for uplift. Our team responded immediately to ensure the necessary securing took place. Once the additional strapping had been installed and inspected, the vehicle was accepted for carriage and prepared for its flight from Toronto to Frankfurt, followed by onward movement to Denmark.
Throughout the operation, our team maintained close control over the Carnet documentation, dangerous goods requirements, airport handling, engineering support, and airline coordination.
